The BJP hit out at the Delhi government and Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, listing out the controversies that it has found itself in during its first 100 days of governance. Delhi unit chief Satish Upadhyay said the government’s performance has been marked more by “confrontation” than “coordination”.

Upadhyay challenged Kejriwal to bring out cabinet meeting records where issues such as laying of water lines, unauthorised colonies, making a summer action plan on power and water or improvement in the working of schools and hospitals were discussed.

Upadhyay also pointed out Kejriwal’s continuing row with Lt-Governor Najeeb Jung over bureaucratic appointments, his silence on the alleged suicide of a farmer during an AAP rally and the row over the alleged fake degree of its Law minister.

“After coming to power in Delhi, there has been no politics of co-ordination, only of confrontation. Kejriwal has been making a mockery of democracy. He has also demeaned the bureaucracy by locking horns with the L-G over a routine appointment. The emergency session (of Assembly) has been called to further escalate the administrative crisis and create alibis to run away from governance,” Upadhyay alleged.

He also launched a presentation, “#AAPKaFareb” which claims that the AAP has failed to fulfil its electoral promises and alleges that the party is continuing to work “overtime” in order to “to create administrative ruckus and divert the public glare away from the real issues”.

Festive offer

Upadhyay said Kejriwal also tried to control the media. “He has failed to understand that the media is different from Yogendra Yadav or Prashant Bhushan, who he could throw away. In these 100 days, they have found fault in the working of every institution, be it the administrative system, constitutional bodies, media or judiciary ,” he said.
