Solving conflicts: Hayatabad to have DRC soon: IGP

Says it will play an effective role in resolving small conflicts and saving time and money of the sides involved

PESHAWAR: A dispute resolution council (DRC) will soon be established in Hayatabad, said IGP Nasir Khan Durrani on Sunday. He was presiding over a meeting of DRC members at Malik Saad Shaheed Lines. Speaking on the occasion, Durrani said registrar and deputy registrar of DRCs will be changed every two months. He added in case a DRC panel needs to be revised for any reason, old panel members will not be included again. According to the IGP, DRCs should have lawyers as its members. He also appreciated the role of women in the councils. Terming the dispute resolution councils a positive step, Durrani said they had played an effective role in solving small conflicts, and had saved time and money of both sides involved.
