Parth Samthaan opposite Shahid Kapoor's sister in a film

Handsome and charming, Parth Samthaan, who shot to popularity with TV show, 'Kaisi Hai Yaarian' is all set to make his Bollywood debut soon. The actor has bagged a film opposite Shahid Kapoor's sister Sanah Kapur. According to a report on an entertainment portal, this upcoming film will be produced by Subhash Singh and will have Sanah’s parents, Pankaj and Supriya Pathak, and her aunt Ratna Pathak Shah in pivotal roles. Directed by one of Mani Ratnam's assistant, Karan Kashyap, the film might also see special appearances by popular actors Katrina Kaif and Naseeruddin Shah. The report further stated that the makers are currently finalising a title for the film.

Sanah was recently seen in Shaandar with brother Shahid and father Pankaj Kapur.

Sushant Digvikar to get engaged to his boyfriend?

Former Bigg Boss contestant Sushant Digvikar, who has been in a relationship with a South African businessman, is apparently planning to get engaged in December, reports Bombay Times. A source has been quoted saying that the couple, who met on a pageant abroad, was also offered Nach Baliye, but Sushant refused the offer as his partner was not too comfortable getting locked up in the house. Now, after dating for some time Sushant is planning to get engaged to him, the report further stated. When BT quizzed Sushant about the same, the choreographer refused to comment on it saying that it is too personal to talk about and that he will speak when the time is right.

Telly actress Asha Negi sure has a crazy global fan base, so much that a UK based student Tashnayne Naidoo tattooed her name on his arm to show his love for the actress. Asha got recognition with her role in the popular television soap Pavitra Rishta, and will soon host Indian Idol Junior. Apparently, in the tattoo the fan had a message conveyed to the actress, who is totally baffled with this crazy gesture! The actress took his message in good spirit and thanked him wholeheartedly, “It is crazy but simply overwhelming when people shower you with so much love. Tattooing someone’s name is definitely a big deal and I’m hoping he must have thought through but either way it left me simply speechless.”

The tall and beautiful actress, Aishwarya Sakhuja aka Toasty from Sony TV's family drama, Saas Bina Sasural, recently talked about her illness on Star Plus' Nach Baliye 7. Aishwarya Sakhuja shared that she was suffering from tuberculosis. A source was quoted in a Bombay Times report as saying that Aishwarya was diagnosed with drug-resistant TB. Rohit Nag and Aishwarya were only friends back then but he never left Aishwarya when she was bed-ridden and was losing hair. Their relationship progressed into love but because of Aishwarya's illness, she suggested that Rohit should not marry her. However, she started getting better and was totally cured of her illness. Later, Rohit proposed Aishwarya for marriage and she accepted.

Diya Aur Bati Hum actress Deepika Singh, who plays an IPS officer in the popular show, was asked to shoot barefoot for an action sequence that was to take place in a temple. According to IANS report, the sequence is inspired by a real life shootout incident. Deepika’s character Sandhya visits a temple where robbers land up to steal money. The actress said in a statement that she was doing an action sequence after ages and it was very interesting. She also revealed that running barefoot gave her blisters on her feet.

I&B ministry and broadcast redressal authority, Broadcast Content Complaints Council, has reportedly received a few complaints from the viewers regarding the content of Zindagi channel. According to a report, viewers claimed that the content of the show, Waqt Ne Kiya Kya Haseen Sitam was inflammatory in nature and promoted Pakistan's narrative of the partition. Hence BCCC, headed by Justice Mukul Mudgal, have issued a notice to Zindagi and summoned its executives for a hearing on May 22. The report further stated that Zee officials have said that they had not received any notice yet. BCCC has reportedly asked the channel to respond to the complaints. Waqt Ne Kiya Kya Haseen Sitam stars Fawad Khan in the lead, who is already a big name in Bollywood. The report stated that one of the complaints mentions that a few episodes highlighted the Indian Muslim League and M A Jinnah as heroes fighting the Congress against discrimination.

Hollywood actor Pamela Anderson, who is a patron of the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) India, has offered to pay money to make thirty realistic and portable elephants made of bamboo and papier-mâché to replace live elephants to be paraded for Thrissur Pooram. According to PETA, capturing an elephant is prohibited under The Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972, yet many elephants are being captured illegally from the wild. The offer came to be because the Animal Welfare Board of India (AWBI) stated that the use of live elephants in Thrissur Pooram is prohibitted as they are not registered with the AWBI, which is required by law before any animal can be made to perform, according to a report on Thehindu.com. The report also claimed that Pamela not only thinks that this step against holding elephants in captivity will garner support nationally and internationally, but also believes that the use of captive elephants would upset tourists who believe Kerala to be God’s own country.

Choreographer Geeta Kapoor is a well known face on the small screen, having judged several dance reality shows. According to a Mumbai Mirror report Geeta Kapoor was arrested by Versova police for rash driving since her car rammed into a pedestrian, however she was later released on bail. According to a report she had called for an ambulance and police before taking the injured to the hospital. Speaking to Timesofindia.com, Geeta Kapoor was quoted saying, "The lesson that I have learnt is that whether it is 4:30 in the morning and you think there will be nobody on the road, there might be somebody and he might come in front of your car. I took the car to the right where people were sleeping on the pavement realising that the divider would stop the car, but it didn't. I took that decision in a split second and I am sorry about that."
