A first person account

When a government official called to invite me to the swearing-in, I was about to tell him that I no longer work with NDTV but he clarified that the invitation was for me as an individual, not for my erstwhile tag. I was touched. The seating was so well planned that actors, doctors, academicians, industrialists and senior journalists were assigned seats together. For the first time in 20 years, I was watching the event as an invitee, without having to cover it live! The clockwise precision with which the function progressed and ended reflected adroit event management. As I left the venue, I couldn't help wondering if this efficiency is Amma's 'Nalla Kaalam' response to Modi's 'Ache Din'.
