Adil, Umer, Hilal emerge winners in Open Cycle Race

SRINAGAR, May 23: J&K Sports for All Associations, an organization for development of Sports organized its Maiden Cycling Championship 2015, with an objective to say no to drugs and help youth not to derail from the mainstream, here today.
The Championship was sponsored by Khyber Cements and Sarovar Portica Group of Hotels.
The race was flagged off by Senior PDP leader and MLC Srinagar, Mohammad Khursheed Alam, who was accompanied by District Youth Serices and Sports Officer, Balbir Singh and Manager Indoor Sports Complex, Sheikh Tulal Ahmad.
The race started at Gousia Hospital Chowk  Khanyar Srinagar and around 200 cyclists from different Colleges, Schools and Cycling Clubs and some professional cyclists participated in the event.  The racers passed through Gousia Hospital, Baba Dawood bridge, Munawara Chowk, Polo ground, TRC, Dalgate, Nehru Park, Nishat, Fore Shore Road and concluded at LAWDA’S Dag Park.
Mohd Adil Teli of Kanihama Cycling Club got first place, while Umer Nabi of Khyber Cements won second place and Hilal Ahmad Sofi bagged third place. In the junior section, Amir Asad of Shalimar Cycling Club got first place, while Waheed Ahmad of Chinnar Cycling Club won second place and Parveez Ahmad of Chinnar Cycling Club claimed third place. The chief guest distributed the prizes including cash awards among the winners and other participants.
