Counselling session in Hubballi today

The annual career counselling and guidance session organised by The Hindu EducationPlus, to lend a helping hand to students, will be held here on Sunday.

The event was first held in Hubballi in 2005 and ever since has evoked overwhelming response ever year. It will be 11th edition of the event in the city. It will be held at Bio Tech Hall of BVB College of Engineering and Technology at Vidyanagar in Hubballi and will begin at 10 a.m.

From subject experts who will tell you the ‘what’ and ‘how’ of the courses that interest you, to officials of examination-conducting bodies who will guide you through the counselling and seat allotment process, officials of the Karnataka Examinations Authority and the Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka will make presentations and answer queries on the counselling process for students who have written the Common Entrance Test and/or the Undergraduate Entrance Test.

In addition, general education experts and subject experts from medicine and engineering will be accessible to students to gain clarity on the options available in these streams.

As is the case each year, students will take home a free copy of ‘The Nxt Step’, a handbook, which boasts of well-researched articles charting trends and helping you plan your next step. Students of Classes 10, 11 and 12 and PU, as well as their parents, can attend the programme.

Vice-Chancellor of University of Agricultural Sciences, Dharwad D.P. Biradar will inaugurate the programme. CEO of Cigma Foundation Ameen-E-Mudassar, CET Coordinator S.B. Girimath, principal of SDM College of Medical Sciences and Hospital, Dharwad, J.V. Chowti, and B.L. Desai, vice-principal of BVB College of Engineering and Technology, Hubballi and S.T. Naik, Dean, Student Welfare, University of Agricultural Sciences, Dharwad will be the panellists for the interaction session.

Students are requested to arrive at the venue before 30 minutes of the scheduled time for spot registration.
