Gautu Sirisha is going to take reins of the Srikakulam unit of the TDP soon, as the party high command has officially cleared her name for its district chief. Mrs. Sirisha may be a political novice, but her family, including his grandfather Gautu Latchanna and father G. Shyam Sundar Shivaji, had proven themselves in district politics. The family’s loyalty to the party, particularly to Nara Lokesh, has benefited it, paving the way for Sirisha’s elevation as district chief. Sources say Mr. Lokesh wanted to develop his young team in all districts, and it is said to be the main reason behind Mrs. Sirisha’s selection. Her choice is expected to change the political equations in the district. Currently, the Kinjarapu family alone is in the limelight. Political opponents of Kinjarapu family are in a jubilant mood following her selection, as her father Mr. Shivaji had opposed Minister Mr. Atchannaidu and his loyalists. Now, checks and balances are likely to be maintained in the district unit of the party.
A question of doubt
JNTUK officials celebrated the release of AP EAMCET-2015 results. Besides inviting all leaders of the TDP, they put out larger-than-life signboards on the campus, inviting the guests. Besides the Ministers for HRD and Health, who released the results of engineering and medical streams, respectively, the MP, MLAs and a battery of local leaders from Kakinada turned up for the occasion. Senior leader Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, the observer, could not bring order and finally decided to pass the decision to party president N. Chandrababu Naidu. The CM, who in the past had openly cautioned the Ministers to bury the hatchet or lose their jobs, appointed a non-controversial leader, P. Chalapathi Rao, president of the party district unit.
