Nigerian drug peddler arrested in Chandigarh

CHANDIGARH: A 27-year-old Nigerian was arrested for supplying cocaine to youngsters through pubs and discos in Tricity on Friday night.
Emmanuel Chukwunonye, who hails from Oforka, Nigeria, was arrested near Football Stadium, Sector 17. Police have recovered about 28gm cocaine from his possession.
ASP (city) Parvinder Singh said, "Emmanuel tried to escape after seeing the crime branch patrolling party, but was nabbed.He had narcotics packed in a small polythene bag. He failed to produce any permit or licence for possessing the substance."
On examining, it was found that the seized material was cocaine. Police sources said during interrogation, he gave several names with whom he was operating his drug smuggling business.
A case was registered at Sector 17 police station.
