Kaushik Babu debuts as director in Telugu

Joining the bandwagon of actor-turned-directors is Swami Ayyappan fame Kaushik Babu.
The actor, who had recently starred in the Malayalam film White Boys, is currently shooting for his debut directorial in Telugu, titled Money Vs Manishi. Actor Siva Reddy’s brother Sampath debuts in the movie as the lead. The director is also part of the film’s cast in guest role.Kaushik says, “Money Vs Manishi is a suspense thriller drama. The film’s concept is based on how wealth divides people into different classes. We have completed the first schedule and will soon start the next. The film is mostly shot in Hyderabad and Sidhipet.” Ravi Kanth and Sravya Pathuri also play prominent roles in the movie, which is scripted by Shashanka.
Interestingly, the actor developed an interest in direction after working with Malayalam directors. “I got smitten by the intense movie making style of Malayalam directors, and also got to learn immensely about the craft during my short stints in the industry. The committed, hardworking professionals that they are, I had decided that whenever I take up direction, they would serve as my role models,” Kaushik says.
