Suriya will promote Rahman’s film!

It is rare to see a superstar promoting another actor’s film. But when Malayali actor Rahman invited Tamil superstar Suriya for the promotion of his upcoming film, Lavender, Suriya readily agreed to do so! Filmmaker Altas Ali says, “Yes, Suriya will come down to Kochi next week to promote the film. Rahman has earlier worked with Suriya and the two share a good rapport.”
Suriya and Rahman have worked together in Singam 2 and in his latest production venture, 36 Vayadhinile, Rahman played husband to actress Jyothika, Suriya’s wife.Rahman says, “It is after Singam 2 that we became good friends. Suriya is currently busy with his film Masss, but when I called him, he agreed to come down to Kerala and promote my film, which was totally unexpected.”
It was Suriya and Jyothika who came up with the idea of casting Rahman in the Tamil remake of Roshhan Andrrews’ How Old Are You. “I am happy that he and Jo (Jyothika) thought of me for the role played by Kunchacko Boban. Suriya and I share similar views and opinions regarding the film industry and the people here. Although he’s a superstar, he has no starry airs and is a disciplined actor like his father. Unlike other actors in Malayalam, he respects senior artistes. Friendship is not about meeting each other and talking every day, it is about understanding each other,” says Rahman.
