T-Mobile To Drop Price Of 64GB Samsung Galaxy S6 / S6 Edge Over Memorial Day Weekend

This article is more than 8 years old.

T-Mobile and MetroPCS are offering deals for its new and existing customers on Samsung’s newest flagship smartphones over Memorial Day weekend between May 23rd and May 25th. Through T-Mobile, the 64GB Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge will cost the same as the 32GB versions.

The price drop brings the 64GB Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge to $679.92 and $779.76 and there is monthly option to pay for the devices at $28.33 and $32.49, respectively. This means that you will be able to save $80 if you buy the Galaxy S6 or S6 Edge this weekend. It is worth pointing out that the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge do not have an option for expandable storage with a microSD card so paying for 64GB for the price of 32GB sounds very appealing. If you buy the 32GB version of the Samsung Galaxy S6 or Galaxy S6 Edge, T-Mobile will offer a $50  Visa  prepaid gift card -- which is an extension of an existing deal that T-Mobile is already running.

According to Digital Trends, T-Mobile is also selling the LG G Stylo and the LG Leon devices at a discount. You can buy the LG G Stylo for $0 down and 24 monthly payments of $12.08 or you can buy it for $289.92 outright. And you can buy the LG Leon for $0 down and 24 monthly payments of $6.24 or you can buy it for $149.76 outright. Prepaid customers that sign up for a plan that is $40 or higher or an SCNC (Simple Choice No Credit) plan will get an LG Leon for free after rebate, according to TmoNews.

MetroPCS, the prepaid wireless service owned by T-Mobile, started selling the LG Leon for $50 starting May 22nd and the G Stylo for $199 starting June 1st. Earlier this week, MetroPCS started two promotions. The first promotion is a free phone option or $50 off an expensive handset if you switch from another prepaid carrier like Virgin Mobile or Boost Mobile. And the second promotion is an offer for four lines of unlimited talk, text and 2GB of 4G LTE for $100 per month.

Samsung Galaxy S6

Samsung unveiled the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge during a press conference at Mobile Wold Congress on March 1st and both devices were released a month later. The design of the Galaxy S6 is similar to its predecessor, but it has a glass backing instead of plastic. The Galaxy S6 has support for mobile payments and support for both major wireless charging standards. It also has a 5.1-inch quad HD Super AMOLED display, Exynos 7420 chip,  fingerprint scanner, 3GB RAM, 32/64/128GB storage options, a 16-megapixel rear camera, a 5-megapixel front camera and 2550 mAh battery.

Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge

The Galaxy S6 Edge is distinctive for having curves around the sides of its 5.1-inch display, which lets you set up small docked menus for monitoring phone calls, social media notifications and news content. The Galaxy S6 Edge also has an Exynos 7420 64-bit chipset, a 16-megapixel rear camera, a 5-megapixel front-facing camera, 32/64/128GB storage options, a fingerprint scanner, a heart rate sensor and a 2,600 mAh battery.

LG Leon

The LG Leon is an Android smartphone with a 4.5-inch display, 1GB RAM, a quad core 1.2GHz processor, 8GB storage, an 8-megapixel rear camera, a 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera and a 1900Ah battery.

LG G Stylo

The LG G Stylo has a 5.7-inch high definition IPS touchscreen, 1.2GHz quad-core processor, 8-megapixel rear-facing camera, 5-megapixel front-facing camera and 3,000 mAh battery.

By offering an exclusive deal for Samsung’s newest flagship smartphones, T-Mobile gains a competitive advantage over its rivals. Some of these promotions expire so you should act quickly if you want a Samsung Galaxy S6, Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge, LG Leon or LG G Stylo for T-Mobile.
