: A man was murdered in a dispute over a plot of land near Arthala Peer on GT Road in Sahibabad area.
The incident took place on Thursday evening when the victim, identified as Asif, protested against the act of land grabbing by the accused, ASP Vipin Tada said, adding, the land belonged to a woman in New Hindan Vihar colony near Arthala Peer.
The assailants then fired at Asif and fled the spot, he said.
The victim was rushed to a hospital where he succumbed to his injuries, the ASP added.
An FIR has been registered at the Sahibabad police station against Mufti, Dilshad, Shamshad, Anurag, and Sachin upon a complaint by Asif’s family members.
Mufti has been arrested while four others are still at large, he said.—PTI
