BHEL to donate solar power plants to nine schools

The Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited, Tiruchi, would donate grid connected roof-top solar photo voltaic power plants worth Rs.1.5 crore to nine schools in and around its Kailasapuram Township under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative.

Inaugurating the first batch of systems in three schools at a function held at the at Boiler Plant Boys Higher Secondary School in the township on Tuesday, A. V. Krishnan, Executive Director, BHEL,Tiruchi, said the plants have been installed at the Boiler Plant Girls Higher Secondary School, Boiler Plant Boys Higher Secondary School and Saradha Middle School.

The eco-friendly solar power plants would be installed in six more schools in the nearby areas. Education, employability training, health and infrastructure of under- privileged people would continue to be the focus areas of BHEL’s CSR activities.

M.Palanivel, General Manager, Human Resources, BHEL Tiruchi, commended the efforts of teachers of Boiler Plant Girls Higher Secondary School in achieving cent per cent pass and Boiler Plant Boys Higher Secondary School for recording 94 per cent pass in the Plus Two public examinations.

A.Rathinavel, Head Master, Boiler Plant Boys HSS , and C.Meena Kumari, Head Mistress, Boiler Plant Girls HSS , spoke.
