J&K Bank holds awareness camps

Srinagar, May 22: Educating people about recently launched social security schemes namely PMJJBY, PMSBY and APY, J&K Bank conducted various awareness camps at Soibugh, Nagam, Narbal and Parnewa in Budgam district.
The bank’s Lead District Office Budgam organized the camps in collaboration with Financial Literacy and Counseling Center Budgam.
Lead District Manager Shahzad Hussain Teli informed the gathering of customers and general Public about the benefits of Insurance cover and future income in shape of Pension for down trodden, marginalized workers, weaker sections and un-organized workers by depositing a meagre amount in shape of premium and other contributions.
During the awareness meetings, a good number of participants responded by enrolling themselves after clarification of certain points regarding these schemes.
FLCC Coordinator A H Rafiqi and Block Development Officer Parnewa Mohd Akbar Wani enlightened the participants about the main features of these schemes.
Meanwhile, RBI representative Ashok Angral distributed juice among the students at the Govt Girls Higher Secondary School Narbal during the literacy camp which was hailed by the staff members of the said school.
Baramulla Camps
The bank’s FLCC center Baramulla organized awareness camps in Botingoo and Burran villages of the district in collaboration with the local business units.
The camp at Botingoo in Zaingeer was conducted in Panchayat Ghar.
Facilitator FLCC Baramulla Mohammad Sultan Dar spoke about financial planning, budgeting, savings, essential and non essential expenses, advantages of savings with banks, concept of Business Correspondents, khidmat centres and different types of borrowings.
He also deliberated upon Kissan Credit Card Scheme, Education loan scheme and various income generating loan products of banks for awareness of the audience.
After the camp, the business unit T P Sopore distributed Rupay Debit cards among account holders whose accounts were opened under PMJDY and also started enrollment of saving bank account holders for the three social security schemes.
The bank’s business units at Kangan and Darsum organized two awareness camps regarding the social security schemes in collaboration with LBO Ganderbal and RSETI Ganderbal at Government Girls High School Preng and at Government High School Wussan in Ganderbal.
The partcipants were educated about the features and benefits of the recently launched social security schemes besides procedures for enrollment.
