Nellore: A MCA student was crushed to death under the wheels of an unidentified vehicle on the national highway near Racharlapadu in Kodavalur mandal of SPSR Nellore district during the early hours of Friday.
The student has been identified as Veerampalli Venkataramana, 23, of Damavaram in Dagadarthi mandal and he is pursing MCA in a college at Chennai. The incident took place when was walking towards Gandavaram along with his father for grazing the sheep around 4.30 am.
Apart from Venkata-ramana, 12 sheep was also killed in the mishap. However, his father Venkateswarlu, 50, escaped unhurt. Quoting Venkateswarlu, Kodavalur police said that the vehicle involved in the mishap is either a lorry or a bus.
The vehicle sped away from the scene after the mishap. Police said that they have registered a case and handed over the body to the family after autopsy.
