GHALLANAI:

In a bid to increase awareness and boost enrolment rates, Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRSC) Mohmand Agency launched a drive on Friday.

A walk, attended by a large number of society volunteers, political administration officials, schoolteachers and students was held to promote education. The rally started at Ekka Ghund Government High School and culminated at Ekka Ghund APA Rest House.

Talking on the occasion, PRCS agency secretary Fauzee Khan said all sections of society will have to play their due role to uplift the education sector and enable out-of-school children to return to the classroom. “It is an astronomical job but not impossible,” he said.

Meanwhile, Senator Hilalur Rehman urged his fellow tribespeople to enrol their children in schools. “It is the only way our society can spiral out of the poverty cycle,” he said. Rehman added education and progress have a causal relationship and no country can move forward without educating its children.

A door-to-door awareness drive was also held in Aqrab Daag area of Pandyalai tehsil.
