Fiji Sun is part of the twenty-eight member International media group that attended the first session of the three-day 10th Jeju Forum for Peace and Prosperity. This began at Haevichi Hotel and Resort Jeju in South Korea.

Fiji Sun is part of the Korea Foundation International Media Group. The theme for this year’s forum is “Towards a New Asia of Trust and Harmony”.

The visiting media delegation attended the Korea Foundation international media session on Korean Unification as international media observers.

The 10th forum have brought together thousand of World Political leaders, scholars, business professionals, heads of international organisations and media to share ideas about peace and prosperity in East Asia.

Four thousand participants from more than 50 countries will discuss pressing issues in the hope of solidifying a peace-building process.

Since its inauguration in 2001, the Jeju Forum has made a substantial contribution to peace-building in Asia with its discussion topics and prominent speakers establishing itself as one of the major international forums in Asia.

The participants list includes former German Chancellor Gerhard Schroder, Former Japanese Prime Minister Yasuo Fukuda, former PM of Australia John Howard, President of Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries Li Xiaolin and former PM of Canada Joe Clark.

Some of the issue discussed on the opening day was future perspectives on South Korea’s Foreign Policy by the former foreign affairs minister.

The Jeju Forum 2015 ended yesterday.
