Rajasthan's commerce topper aspires to be a lawyer
JAIPUR: Inspired by judicial activism in India, Rajat Goyal, who stood first in Class XII commerce exams by securing 97.4% has decided to take a one-year break. The resident of Gangapur City, Sawai Madhopur, wants to prepare for Common Law Admission Test (CLAT). His decision to become a legal professional, moving away from his earlier dream to be a chartered accountant (CA) has upset his family. But Rajat is hopeful of convincing his family.
Goyal scored 487 out of 500.
“I was passionate about financial sector since childhood as most of my relatives were in this sector. My keen interest in news report exposed me to the world of judges and lawyers. I am fascinated by judicial activism in the country which has exposed several scams,” said a confident Rajat.
Living in a joint family where everyone has his own individual business, choosing a different profession while taking a one-year break after bagging first position is not easy for him. He, however, has convinced most of his family members about the growing role of this career. Rajat said, “I have been explaining them the importance this career has in serving the nation. Half of them are convinced while I am sure that soon the rest will also be on my side.”
He scored 100% in Maths, 99 in English, 98 in business studies and 94 in Hindi.
