Kozio Announces VTOS Scan™, First Automated Hardware Interface Test Tool

New solution delivers faster configuration of hardware test and quick integration with automated test tools

Longmont, CO (PRWEB)

Highlights:

  • Automates hardware interface test configuration for custom circuit board designs
  • Powerful embedded verification commands provide great flexibility with reduced test times
  • Export test configuration data for easy setup of automated manufacturing test

Kozio, Inc. (http://www.kozio.com), a provider of embedded software tools for hardware verification and programming, today announced the Kozio® VTOS Scan™ tool for automated hardware interface testing. VTOS Scan is the industry’s first embedded hardware interface test tool that automates the process of creating new configurations; providing a solution suitable for verifying new board designs, new product introductions, and full volume manufacturing test. Built using the proven VTOS™ embedded software for hardware verification, VTOS Scan accelerates the process of configuring new embedded tests, while providing built-in verification commands that have been thoroughly tested and enhanced over many years.

With the increasing speeds of Ethernet, PCI, USB, CAN, and other I/O interfaces, fast setup and embedded test execution is required for all embedded product designs. A tool must be flexible enough to support the various aspects of custom circuit board designs, while making it easy to drive signals, communicate with bus devices, and read and write all memory locations.

VTOS Scan uses a unique approach of utilizing minimal system-on-chip (SoC) resources to provide a stable on-device application for hardware configuring, hardware interface testing, and controlling all bus-based devices - without compiling code and embedded device restarts. Pin mux configuration, driving signals, interfacing with bus devices, and hardware interface testing is performed at run time without compilation and system restarts, saving engineers weeks to months of effort.

For designers or test engineers, VTOS Scan provides a tool that is easy to install with no steep learning curve. The task-focused VTOS Scan user interface makes it easy to configure board-specific settings, automatically scan for bus devices and add them to the test configuration, and add test commands for board-specific use cases. With Kozio’s vAccess™, VTOS Scan circuit board project information is easily exported for execution with NI’s TestStand, or exported to Kozio’s scripting language for automatic test execution on the manufacturing line. Manufacturing test engineers can integrate VTOS Scan into their production test process providing fast pre-OS testing without running any other embedded software.

“Kozio is committed to providing its customers with world-class embedded tool solutions,” said Joe Skazinski, chief technology officer at Kozio. “VTOS Scan is our second offering in this new focused product line, and we are very pleased with the results and the positive customer feedback.”

VTOS Scan is part of the new Kozio line of embedded tools, which includes VTOS Program™ and VTOS DDR™, addressing complex challenges faced by semiconductor, component provider, and system companies.

Availability
VTOS Scan™ is available now for TI’s Sitara AM335x family of processors, with support for other processors coming regularly. For more information, visit http://www.kozio.com/vtos-scan. Support for a new SoC can be released in as little as a month, please contact us to request support.
