Original pop diva Shirley Bassey wasn't happy with some of the stars' Met Gala fashion choices.

Bassey slammed Beyoncé specifically on her extremely sheer gown, and believes she is setting a bad example, UK Express Reports. These comments also came after she saw Jennifer Lopez and Rihanna's eye-popping designs.

"They're all in competition with each other about who can wear the skimpiest outfit," Bassey said. "They're all in competition with each other instead of concentrating on their art and honing in and perfecting it."

Bassey couldn't believe her eyes when it came to some of the stars' dresses, especially Beyoncé's Givenchy creation.

"I think you have to leave a lot to the imagination," she admitted.

The Welsh singer came into the spotlight when revealing hem lines were as scandalous as dresses got. "In my day it was for the stage only," she said. "You didn't go out like that."

The 78-year-old singer knows how talented these singers are, but she's more concerned for their young fans.

"All the young girls of today want to dress like that," she went on to say. "These girls are talented singers, they don't need that but they feel they do have to be in competition to have the least covering. That's the saddest thing."
