Thrashing prime minister Narendra Modi’s claim of development in Gujarat, Congress MP from Rohtak in Haryana Deepender Singh Hooda said here on Friday that Gujarat did not get metro train services despite Modi ruling the state for over 13 years as chief minister.
Talking to media persons, he said that he had heard about starting the construction of metro trains in Ahmedabad when he visited the state for the first time in 1999.

“While metro rail services are in operation for the last several years in Delhi and three towns – Faridabad, Gurgaon and Bahadurgarh – of Haryana during the Congress regime, its construction is yet to begin in Gujarat”, he said.
Hooda said: “I had also read in newspapers about foreign tourists visiting the much-hyped Sabarmati Riverfront Development Project, but I did not find even a domestic tourist on the riverfront when I reached here today.”
He said that he also found the water in Sabarmati dirty.
Hooda also took a jibe at Modi’s promise of bringing back black money. He said that there was huge difference in sayings and doings of Modi and BJP leaders.
“Modi promised to bring black money in 100 days after coming to power and deposit Rs. 15 lakh in bank accounts of every Indian citizen but nothing has happened even after one year”, commented Hooda.
