Recalling his school days when he and his class-mates and friends were a huge fan of Azharuddin, Emraan said, “I remember those days in school, when I was in Class VII, something unusual happened one day.
My friends and me, after playing cricket during the sports break when we came back to our classroom, our teachers began scolding us. We realized it was because we had kept our collars up, and one man to be blamed for us doing that was Azhar bhai."
"And 20 years later when Ekta called me saying that she was making a film on the life and times of Azharbhai and that I will be playing the title role in his biopic, I yelled and screamed. It was the best day of my life. But then there was panic, nervousness and anxiety. I felt here is a man who has been celebrated and minutely seen under the microscope for over 30 years."
