Watch: Will we witness Pollard vs Starc fight if RCB play MI in IPL 8 final?

The cricketers got into a brawl during the match between MI-RCB in 2014

Mumbai: The atmosphere is slowly getting electric as the final battle of the eighth edition of Indian Premier League (IPL) gets underway at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Sunday. While Mumbai Indians (MI) have booked their ticket, the spectators are eagerly waiting for the second finalist between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

This IPL has been mostly clean, with no major fights or ‘signals’ of spot-fixing but when it comes to the concluding part, expect tempers to flare especially if RCB plays MI. Why?

To dig an episode from the past, not long ago (in 2014), an altercation between Kieron Pollard and Mitchell Starc saw what high pressure games can do to cricketers. Both the teams were playing to seal their position in the table to stay afloat for the knockout stage when these two cricketers brought the devil outside.

After a few words, Pollard pulled out when Starc ran in to bowl his next delivery. But the pacer aimed at the Caribbean’s body to which Pollard threw his bat at him.

The umpires tried to calm things down along with RCB skipper Virat Kohli. Pollard grabbed him by his neck before the hot-headed Kohli withdrew himself.

Let’s hope the best team qualifies for the final battle.
