NAGPUR: Nagpur district women reigned supreme in the 11th Prashant Nayak Memorial
All-India Open Women Handball tournament. The tourney was recently organized by the Shivneri Club, Mumbai at Ulhas Nagar.
Nagpur thrashed Thane 20-1 in a lop-sided final to clinch the title. Earlier in the semifinal, Nagpur eves trounced Raigarh 23-3. Nagpur's Poonam Kadav was adjudged as best shooter, while
Prajakta Bhagat was named as best goalkeeper.
Both are trained under the guidance of Dadoji Konddeo awardee Sitaram Bhotmange, Dr Sunil Bhotmange, Sharad Yelekar and Pawan Meshram.
