14 DAY TRIAL // Celkon is a well-known Indian smartphone manufacturer that usually launches quite a few products each month. The Indian emerging market is extremely competitive at low-tier, which is why companies like Celkon have to release new products pretty often.
The latest addition to Celkon's portfolio of Android smartphones is called Campus Q405. Unfortunately, apart from the low price, Celkon's new handset doesn't really stand out.
As mentioned earlier, the good news is Celkon Campus Q405 is now available at Snapdeal for just Rs 3,199 outright, which is about $50 (€45). Customers will be able to choose from multiple color options, including Black, Blue, Gold and White.
“We are once again innovating with our latest offering Campus Q405 with a one-of-its kind proposition. Having launched many offerings for the retail market, we are launching Q405 exclusively for the e-tail market.
“We aim to bring forth a smart phone for every individual’s need and the new Q405 is a step in this direction,” said Y Guru, chairman and managing director, Celkon Mobiles.
Specs are on the low-end tier
Moving on to specs, the Campus Q405 comes with one feature that Celkon could not miss and that's dual-SIM support. Besides that, Celkon's phone is a pure low-end handset aimed at those who wish to purchase their first smartphone or can't afford to pay more for one.
For example, the Campus Q405 sports a 4.0-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports 480 x 800 pixels resolution. Also, the smartphone ships with Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system right out of the box.
On the inside, the budget-friendly smartphone is equipped with a 1.2GHz quad-core processor, 512MB of RAM, 4GB of internal memory and microSD card slot for memory expansion.
There's also a 3.2-megapixel photo snapper on the back, which features LED flash and video recording, while in the front there's a secondary 1.3-megapixel camera for selfies.
Other highlights of the Celkon Campus Q405 include 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 3.5mm audio jack and 1,500 mAh battery, which has yet to be rated by the manufacturer.
