2.88 lakh students eligible for higher studies

The result of the Kerala Higher Secondary School (HSE) examination declared on Thursday registered 83.96 per cent pass percentage, which is 4.57 per cent higher than the previous year. As many as 2,88,362 students who wrote the examination of 2015 have been declared eligible for higher studies.

Results of the higher secondary and vocational higher secondary examinations were announced here by Education Minister P.K. Abdu Rabb. Last year the pass percentage for the higher secondary examinations was 79.39.

While 10,839 candidates got A+ grade for all subjects, 151 candidates secured 1,200 out of 1,200 marks.

At least one among these students scored 100 per cent without any grace marks. Of the 1,83,460 girls who wrote the examination, 1,63,908 became eligible for higher studies (89.34 per cent). The corresponding figure for boys was 77.78 per cent. As many as 1,59,999 boys had written the examination.
