Wheelchairs distributed on Mohanlal’s birthday

Actor Mohanlal’s 55th birthday was celebrated in a novel way by his fans by distributing 50 wheelchairs to various hospitals in the city and suburbs and on hand to distribute them was Leader of the Opposition V.S. Achuthanandan.

Mr. Achuthanandan was all praise for the gesture. “The concern and social commitment shown by the fans’ and welfare association is commendable. I hope such humanitarian activities will be undertaken across the State,” Mr. Achuthanandan said.

K. Muraleedharan, MLA, chaired the function, which was attended by film director Ashok Kumar, Government Nursing College Principal Susanna Varghese, Government Medical College superintendent Sulfilkar, film producer Kireedom Unni, and All Kerala Mohanlal Fans Cultural and Welfare Association president Vimal.

Beneficiary hospitals

The wheelchairs will be distributed among the Government Medical College; Sri Avittom Thirunal Hospital; General Hospital; TB Centre, Pulayanarkotta; , and the taluk hospitals at Nedumangad, Parassala, and Peroorkada.

Mohanlal, currently holidaying in Japan, greeted the function through a video message.
