IT firms in Noida seek change of land use
NOIDA: The city’s IT and ITeS companies are keen on having land allocated to them to be used for manufacturing.
The Noida Entrepreneurs Association, the umbrella body of all enterprises located in Noida, has written to the chairman of the Noida Authority seeking permission for IT and ITeS companies to change their form of business because the profitability of these companies located in Noida has dropped over the years.

“We have proposed that the subject be taken up by the Noida Authority in their May 25 board meeting. By allowing the IT and ITeS companies to convert their businesses to manufacturing, they would not only help the industrialists, but also generate employment,” Vipin Malhan, president, NEA, told TOI.
There are over 50 such plots in Noida which were allotted by the Noida Authority for setting up IT and ITeS companies. “The land allotted to IT companies was at a higher rate than for other companies, so we are not asking the Noida Authority to return the money. We just want permission for conversion so that the entrepreneurs who invested in these plots can resume work. The idea is to convert the plot allocation to other kinds of manufacturing businesses,” Malhan said.
