MCG notice to clear illegal structures in Gurgaon's Gwalpahari

GURGAON: The MCG has served demolition notices on two private builders — Ansal API and Paras Buildtech — and two others for encroaching upon a natural drain in Gwalpahari area on Gurgaon-Faridabad road. All the four have been asked to clear the drain of encroachments within a week or else action would be initiated against them.
A senior MCG official said the demolition notices were served on Tuesday, after the re-demarcation of the natural drain, which belongs to the civic body, was carried out on April 30 by the tehsildar of Sohna in presence of senior MCG officials and representatives of the builders.
“We received the final report only on May 6, after which we have issued notices to Fantasy Buildwell Limited and Solitaire Softech Limted — both subsidiaries of Paras Buildtech — for encroaching upon an area of 6969.11 sq yards,” the official said.
“Notices were also issued to BSF Cooperative Housing Society and Valley View Estate, both belonging to Ansal API, for encroaching upon 1837.698 sq yards, Maxicon Traders for encroaching upon 293.74 sq yards and another individual, Deepak Dayalani, for encroaching upon 130 sq yards of the natural drain that is MCG land,” he said.
When contacted, general manager of Paras Buildtech, Mahesh Joshi, told TOI, “We have cleared the debris from our project that had covered the natural drain. There is no encroachment by us on the drain.”
A spokesperson for Ansal API, however, said, “We have not received any notice yet and hence cannot comment on it.”
