Review: Sibling duo Sharib and Toshi Sabri share composing credits with lyricist-composer Sham Balkar on the soundtrack. Sham has also done some songwriting apart from Kumaar. The first song is a bhangra dance track that goes by the title Beauty Da Phool. The pace is middling and Toshi Sabri’s singing is middling.
Kumaar also writes Dil Ka Baje Ektara, which has other brother Sharib behind the mike this time. It has the trademark Sabri sound and reminds you of their gaana Maahi from Raaz — The Mystery Continues. Anvesha gives female backing vocals for what’s the best song on the album. Next up is Dheere Kam Hogi Udaasi with Rahat Fateh Ali Khan on singing duty, but fails to impress. Sham disappoints on the composing and songwriting front. Jaspinder Narula’s opening vocals are pitch-perfect. Festive number Holi (Color Zindagi Hai) is another Sham number, sung by dance song experts Mika Singh and Sunidhi Chauhan. Put it down to lack of enthusiasm on the singers’ part, but despite the 80s Bollywood-style lyrics by Sham, the song fails to bring colour to one’s cheeks. Closing number Dooriyan has Javed Ali, Mahalaxmi Iyer and Sonu Kakkar coming together for a quintessential sad song. No surprises here.
