TV show recreates air-hostess Neerja Bhanot’s story

Barely has the shoot of the biopic of Neerja Bhanot, the slain flight attendant of Pan Am, commenced, with Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor playing the title role, television has jumped into the fray.
The incident where Neerja lost her life saving passengers from terrorists on the hijacked plane on September 5, 1986, will be recreated in an episode of Vikas Gupta’s 'Talaash'.

Actress Neha Julka, who will play the part, says, “We have changed the name of the protagonist to Nimrat Bajwa and tweaked some facts. The story doesn’t end with the tragedy. She communicates with her mother, who she was close to, in spirit form. There on, the mother adopts the role of a medium through whom people communicate with their lost kin.”
