Lakshmi Machine Works witnessed a rise in share price on Thursday after the company disclosed a jump in standalone net profit for the quarter ended March 2014.  During the quarter, the profit of the company rose 25.24% to Rs 672.59 million from Rs 537.05 million  in the same quarter previous year.

Total income for the quarter  rose marginally 0.64% to Rs 6,837.12 million, compared with Rs 6,793 million for the prior year period.

Shares of Lakshmi Machine Works are trading at Rs 3,679.70, up Rs 81.35, or 2.26% at the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on Thursday at 11:52 a.m.

The scrip has touched an intra-day high of Rs 3,730.60 and low of Rs 3,616.85. The total volume of shares traded at the BSE is 1,195.
