G. Gopinathan has bagged the Rahul Sankrityayan Award.

G. Gopinathan, writer and former Vice Chancellor of the Mahatma Gandhi Antarrashtriya Hindi Vishwavidyalaya, Wardha, has bagged the Rahul Sankrityayan Award instituted by the Central Institute of Hindi, Agra, under the Union Ministry of Human Resource Development.

President Pranab Mukherjee will present the award, comprising a purse of Rs.1 lakh and a citation, to Prof. Gopinathan at a function at Rashtrapathi Bhavan in New Delhi, a press release issued here said.

Prof. Gopinathan’s contribution to translation studies and comparative literature made him eligible for the award, it said.
