CHANDIGARH: Haryana medical education department authorities are waiting for the probe report to be submitted by the PGIMS in the death of Neelam Rani and her newborn child. Sources informed that Pardeep Kasni, the director general of medical education, Haryana is monitoring the probe and has asked the PGI director to submit the report by Thursday evening.
"We are waiting for the report to be submitted. So far as release of dead bodies is concerned, we are looking at that angle as well. The postmortem is must, especially when the issue reaches the police department or involves any kind of controversy," he said.
Release of dead bodies of Neelam Rani, the woman and her baby who died at PGIMS on Monday night could put the officials and authorities of PGIMS in the trouble waters.
Neelam Rani, 25, and her baby boy had died within minutes after the delivery.
The deaths had created the row. While, Neelam's family members had alleged delayed treatment added with misbehave by the medical staff as misbehave by security staffers on duty.
PGI officials had denied any kind of misbehave or delay in treatment by the doctors on duty. PGI had maintained that Neelam was suffering from chronic lever disease added with muitiple problems which led to pre mature delivery and she had delieved and underweight baby boy.
PGI's medical superintendent had also insisted that doctors had been updating the Neelam's family about her health and the family too has given the consent before her delivery.
