After a successful Philippine debut last year, the International Premier Tennis League has officially announced in a press conference its three-day return to the country on December 6 to 8 at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay.

Dubbed as the tennis All Stars, the IPTL will once again bring the biggest names in Tennis to Manila as the likes of Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Maria Sharapova and Serena Williams are set to grace the hard court to showcase their talent in front of adoring Filipino tennis enthusiasts.

"The Philippines will be another exciting leg of the IPTL's tour," says IPTL VP of operations Abhishek Ponia, who also revealed that the event will be held annually for ten years.

The tournament will be competed in a five-team format composed of eight chosen players divided to five countries: Philippines, Singapore, India, UAE and Japan.

"We are proud to have the no. 1 ranked single women's player Serena Williams headlining the Philippine Mavericks this season," says Jean-Henri Lhuillier, co-owner and team manager of team Philippine Mavericks.

"We believe that she and her fellow teammates, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, Treat Huey, Richard Gasquet, Jarmila Gajdosova, Borna Coric, Sabine Lisicki and team captain Mark Philippoussis will bring home the winning title this year."

Tickets will go on sale on July 15 with prices as follows: 58000 for VIP, 48000 for patron, 26000 for lower box, 14000 for upper box and 3000 for general admission.

A single purchase of ticket is accessible for the entire three-day event and is transferrable. - RAF, GMA News
