DF wins 106 million Euro contract to execute Natural gas cogeneration plant in Chile
Facility to supply energy and steam for Aconcagua refinery, located in region of Valparaiso

Gijón, 20 May 2015. DF signed a contract today with the Chilean company Empresa Nacional del Petróleo (ENAP), for approximately 106 million Euros, to execute a cogeneration plant in Concon (in the region of Valparaiso). Present at the signing of the contract, which took place in Santiago de Chile, were the General Director of ENAP, Marcelo Tokman, the Refining and Sales Manager of ENAP, Marc Llambías, the Chairman of DF, Ángel Antonio del Valle, and the General Director of DF Energy, Rafael Murillo.

The contract involves developing a turnkey project for the installation of a cogeneration plant consisting of a GE 77 MW natural gas turbine and a boiler that will produce 125 t/h of steam. The facility will be located 1.5 kilometres from the Aconcagua refinery, where all the steam produced will go, together with 35 MW of electricity the excess will form part of the Central Interconnected System of Chile.

The cogeneration plant will enable the lowering of emissions and will not require any additional water to that already used by the Aconcagua refinery. The refinery processes 104,000 barrels of crude oil per day, and supplies the greater part of the fuel consumed by the Metropolitan Region.

This is DF's second energy project in Chile after the open cycle power plant at Tierra Amarilla in Copiapó (160 MW), which was finished in 2008. The Spanish company is currently executing five energy projects in Argentina, Peru, Venezuela, the United Kingdom and Algeria, over 4,000 MW in total.
