Salim Merchant has been travelling for more than 200 days

Speaking of travels, we were quite surprised to note that Salim Merchant has been travelling for more than 200 days since last year. Right now he is in Poland, shooting a music video while juggling time and commitments for his musical, which is now showing in London at the Palladium Theatre. The travel has mostly been for work, both with Suleiman for their live shows, and for his own production.

And even if he has not really counted the numbers of days he has been on the move, Salim tells us that he will be back in in the city for five hours next week before taking off again ­ Kolkata, Delhi, Bangkok and phew! As for the musical, with chhau, bihu, kathak, lavani and other traditional and folk dance forms, the effort to look beyond Bollywood is being appreciated by audiences, he says. Well done!
