Marshfield High junior linebacker Freddy Allen received his first Division 1 offer tonight, from FCS member Central Connecticut State.

The 6-foot-2, 230-pound Allen was a key cog in last year's MIAA Division 2 State Championship run for the Rams, who scorched Longmeadow 45-6 in the state final at Gillette Stadium. On the season, Allen recorded 91 tackles, three sacks, 12 quarterback hurries, an interception and a forced fumble.

Allen also holds an offer from the Division 2 ranks, from Assumption College. Temple, Penn, New Hampshire, Lehigh and Delaware have also shown varying degrees of interest in Allen to this point.
