Passengers as well as railway officials were in a tizzy following a call claiming that there was a bomb aboard the Bandra-bound Saurashtra Janata Express.However, the call turned out to be a hoax.

RAJKOT: Passengers as well as railway officials were in a tizzy following a call claiming that there was a bomb aboard the Bandra-bound Saurashtra Janata Express. However, the call turned out to be a hoax.
Sources said that railway officials at Padadhari railway station received a call from an unknown person from Jamnagar informing that a bomb was planted on the Saurashtra Janata Express that runs between Hapa in Jamnagar and Bandra in Mumbai.

The call was received after the train departed Jamnagar station around 3:23pm. Following the call, the train was stopped at Padadhari railway station, some 20km from Rajkot and passengers were asked to step out. Police and railway officials conducted a thorough check in all coaches but found nothing, sources said.
Apart from police, the bomb disposal squad, dog squad and 108 emergency ambulances service personnel were also called in.
The train was allowed to proceed on its journey after over an hour of search.
