App provides on-demand dog walkers

Your smartphone has you on a leash. It might as well have your dog on one, too.

A new mobile app called Wag! is expanding into New York City Thursday, promising on-demand dog-walking services for time-starved clients.

“New York will be our biggest market,” Wag! co-founder Joshua Viner told The Post, eyeing the Big Apple’s 1 million dogs after launching in San Francisco and Los Angeles.

The service, whose 30- and 60-minute walks begin at $20, includes a “report card” with a picture, GPS-generated map of the walk and “pee & poo” report.

Within 12 months, Wag! aims to be walking 1 percent, or 10,000, of New York’s dogs each day.

Wag! backers include Freestyle Capital, Greylock, Crunchfund, and RRE.
