MLAs flays minister for his failure in civic body affairs

Nellore: YSR Congress legislators have been targeting minister Dr P. Narayana during every available opportunity. Nellore City MLA Dr P. Anilkumar Yadav and Nellore Rural MLA Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy have been criticising Dr Narayana for every shortcoming in the Nellore Corporation.
Sridhar Reddy went one step ahead and questioning his competence as minister under the pretext that he could not set right the affairs of civic body in his hometown (Nellore). The latest salvo the legislators fired was the minister's failure to post Commissioner to the Nellore Corporation though the post was lying vacant since more than a month. Interestingly hardly anyone in Telugu Desam counters the opposition attacks on the minister.
This is being attributed to minister's laxity in attending to their problems and also maintaining relations with the party leaders. Even his close followers are not reacting to the onslaught of the YSRC MLA's since they were not given even party posts.
“As per as we are concerned Dr Narayana is a newcomer into the party. In politics party men will back any leader if they are confident of either recognition or future benefits. In case of our minister (Dr Narayana) there is no guarantee that he will come to the rescue of the cadres or leaders if they raise their voice in his support since he did nothing to gain their confidence. Even if someone is keen on attacking Opposition on behalf of the minister, they don't want to take the chance because they believe that this will annoy senior leaders such as Adala Prabhakar Reddy and Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy, who are up in arms against the minister,” a senior leader said.
According to the leader, except one or two legislators and few constituency in-charges, entire party and rank and file has been rallying behind Prabhakar Reddy and Chandramohan Reddy. Their clout in the party enhanced after the recent episode in Hyderabad where they along with other party leaders found fault with the minister Narayana's style of functioning in his very presence.
Meanwhile Nellore Rural MLA Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy took potshots against Dr Narayana for his claims over resolving all the problems whether he is in Japan, China or Tullur using through computers. Speaking to media persons after inspecting sanitary conditions in 35th division on Wednesday, he expressed concern over pollution in the drinking water.
