Three days after burglary incidents in two houses in police quarters in Shevvapet, the police are clueless about the burglars as investigations failed to reach any breakthrough.

The houses of Inspector and a head constable were burgled on consecutive days on Sunday and Monday with 87 sovereign of gold jewellery and cash missing totally.

The almirah was not broken and were opened using duplicate keys.

Also, mystery remains how outsiders could enter the quarters that is meant only for police personnel and their families. Sources said that burglars could have monitored the movement of the personnel and their family members and committed the crime. Criminals, who were recently arrested and released from prison, were being questioned. The role of criminals from North India was also being investigated. However, the police are yet to identify the burglars involved in the two incidents.

The city police that insists on having surveillance cameras in residential apartments and commercials establishments failed to have cameras in the quarters.
