Glowing tributes were paid to Andhra's first Chief Minister Tanguturi Prakasam Pantulu on his 58th death anniversary here on Wednesday.
Director General of Police J.V. Ramudu, Prakasam District Collector Sujatha Sharma, Inspector General of Police N. Sanjay and Superintendent of Police Ch. Srikanth were among those who garlanded the statue of Prakasam Pantulu at the Prakasam Bhavan. Mr. Ramudu recalled the contributions of the late leader before and after independence. “It is time for us to take a resolve to build Navya Andhra taking inspiration from Prakasam Pantulu who belonged to a class of politicians who sacrificed all his personal assets for the people's cause,” added the late leader’s grandson Tanguturi Gopalakrishna.
Meanwhile, Brahmana Seva Samiti functionaries, K. Ramakrishnamurthy, M.V. Seshaiah, G. Subbaiah Sarma and M Hari Premnath, garlanded the statue of ‘Andhra Kesari’ (Lion of Andhra) at Lawyerpet here.
YSR Congress activists led by its State unit official spokesman Bathula Brahmananda Reddy paid their homage to Prakasam Pantulu.
