Two persons were killed in a road accident at Pappanayakanpatti Pirivu near here on Wednesday.
The accident occurred when Manivel (40) of Velambadi, riding a motorcycle, hit another motorcycle driven by Murugesan (28) of Pallapatti. Besides the two, Kalpana, wife of Murugesan, who was a pillion rider, suffered grievous injuries and was rushed to the Government Hospital at Pallapatti for treatment. However, Manivel was declared brought dead. Murugesan, who was admitted to a private hospital, died of his injuries later, the police sources said.
The Pallapatti police have registered a case.
