IBO cruiserweight champion Danny Green's 29-second knockout of fellow Australian Paul Briggs in July has been ruled a sham contest.
The Western Australian Professional Combat Sports Commission said that the challenger (pictured), who was downed by a tame looking left jab to the top of his head in the Perth bout, had failed to reveal he had health issues.
"Paul Briggs, by not disclosing at any time to the examining doctors, his opponent or the professional sports combat commission the complete picture of his medical condition in relation to his nervous system... has participated in a sham contest," AAP reported a commission spokesman as saying.
Briggs (26-4) was ordered to pay the commission A$75,000 (£46,686) of the A$200,000 (£124,496) he collected for the July 21 contest, his first for three years.
Champion Green (30-3), who is preparing to defend his title against American BJ Flores in Western Australia later this month, was cleared of any wrong-doing by the commission.
The commission also said they had passed on details of a number of unusually high bets on a first round knockout win for Green to local police.
"That material has been referred to the Commissioner of Police, as the police are the appropriate body to deal with any issues that, in their opinion may arise from that documentation," the commission's report said.
