Fake molestation case: LT Marg Assistant Police Inspector arrested

The LT Marg police on Wednesday arrested its Assistant Police Inspector JD Kodulkar who was booked for framing a small time Mumbai-based model, Jimmy Gonda, in a fake molestation case along with five other conspirators. “Kodulkar was produced before a local court where he was released on a bail,” a police source confirmed.
On Tuesday, the LT Marg police registered the case against its officials, Kodulkar and Sub Inspector Rekha Sangpal along with four other people - the complainant Samina Usmania, her advocate Ashish Phalke, a private detective Haroon and the main conspirator Nazia Merchant.
The two police officials were suspended on Tuesday after the inquiry report revealed their involvement in the alleged extortion case.

The conspiracy came to light after Usmania approached the police and admitted that she and her accomplices including the two police officials were paid by Merchant to frame Gonda. An inquiry was ordered following Samina’s allegations.
The two police officials were suspended on Tuesday after the inquiry report revealed their involvement in the alleged extortion case.
