TOKYO -- Tokyo Electric Power Co. is joining forces with Thailand's state-owned power utility in liquefied natural gas (LNG) operations.
Tepco and the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) would cooperate in the procurement, shipment, and use of LNG to generate power. They hope to gain cost competitiveness by combining those processes. The suspension of its nuclear plants is making Tepco explore new opportunities outside Japan.
