A cultural day was organised by junior school students of St Joseph’s Academy here today. The programme started with a prayer dance ‘You are my all in all’, to seek the blessings of the Almighty. ‘Beauty and the Beast’ presented by students of Class III, made the characters come alive on the stage. Vibrant costumes and intricately designed props complemented this performance. Students of Class I presented a rainbow for the audience, dressed in colours of the rainbow. This was followed by a graceful ballet dance performance.

‘Gautam Buddha,’ a presentation depicting various phases on the life of Lord Buddha, put up by students of Class IV was informative as well as interesting.

This was followed by a humorous English play ‘Nosey Parker’ and Hindi play ‘Abhimani Murtikar’ which left the audience in splits. After the humour, there was a serious thought provoking contemporary dance performance by students of Class IV and V dedicated to mother-daughter relationship.

Several solo performers exhibited their talents. Junior school choir presented the melodious number ‘We are the World.’ The grand finale of the programme was a musical extravaganza ‘ It’s a small world’ by Class II spreading the message of global peace.

Brother Xavier and Brother Dennis graced the occasion as chief guest and appreciated the effort and hard work put in by the students and staff. The programme concluded with the school song.
