MANGALURU: Madikehalli in Kunigal taluk in Tumakuru Kannada district recorded maximum rainfall of 80mm in the last 24-hours up to 8.30am on May 20. Kalaburagi hobli in Kalaburagi taluk of Kalaburagi district recorded maximum temperature of 43.9°C at 2.30pm on May 19. Santhahalli hobli in Somwarpet taluk of Kodagu district recorded lowest minimum temperature of 16.8°C at 5.30am on May 20.

More than 90% relative humidity has been recorded in 39% geographical area in the state. Less than 25% of relative humidity has been recorded in 27% geographical area in the state. Rainfall over the state is considered as isolated since 23% of hoblis and gram panchayats recorded rainfall of =2.5mm. Heavy rain was recorded in six gram panchayats; rather heavy rain in 77 gram panchayats; moderate rain in 541 gram panchayats; light rain in 192 gram panchayats; very light rain in 240 gram panchayats; and no rainfall in remaining 3,814 GPs across the state.
Karnataka for period from May 14 to May 20 recorded 65% surplus rainfall. Against normal weighted average rainfall of 21mm in south-interior, north-interior, malnad and coastal parts, state recorded rainfall of 35mm. For 24-hours period ending 8.30am on May 20, four geographical regions received 3mm actual weighted average rainfall against normal weighted average rainfall of 3mm, a 12% deficit departure from the weighted-average normal.
