Kashi to be platform for ‘Search Netaji’ mission
Varanasi: Varanasi will be the launching pad of ‘Subhash ki khoj, ek maha abhiyan’ aimed at unravelling the mystery of Subhash Chandra Bose. Netaji’s admirers from across the country will assemble in the city on June 5, to launch the movement and urge citizens concerned to share every bit of information or evidence related to him.
Netaji’s great grandniece Rajyashree Chaudhari on Tuesday said, “Kashi will be the centre of campaign.” She had visited Netaji’s trusted driver Nizamuddin in his native village Dhakwa in Azamgarh along with Banaras Hindu University’s history teacher Rajiv Srivastava.

The meeting would be held in Gandhi Adhyayan Peeth of Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapeeth, said Srivastava. The campaign would be guided by former central information commissioner OP Kejriwal and Netaji’s associate Nizamuddin.
“As commissions and committees like Shah Nawaz Committee, Khosla Commission and Mukherjee Commission have failed to arrive at any conclusion, it is now for the Janata Commission (people’s commission) to solve the mystery,” said Srivastava.
“Now, 125 crore citizens of the country will search and gather facts about Netaji,” he said and added that a five-member committee would coordinate the campaign across the country.
Kejriwal said, “All Subhaswadis are invited to participate in this movement.” He said that an action plan would be chalked out in the meeting that would be attended by a number of intellectuals, researchers, social activists and NGOs. “The mystery of Gumnami Baba should be unfolded,” said Kejriwal.

Srivastava said that the movement would be taken to different cities and towns through meetings and debates. People from foreign countries too would be invited to join the movement, he said and added that an exhibition of old documents related to Netaji would be held during the meeting. Netaji’s kin Rajyashree too would provide documents and letters for the exhibition, he added.
Rajyashree had recently visited the city to participate in a programme ‘Rashtriya Swabhiman Andolan’. She has been demanding declassification of the secret files related to Netaji.
